Title of Presentation:
Technology infusion / impact in Chinese curriculum
Description:
To develop the 21st Century learning skills: foreign language, digital literacy, collaboration, creativity, communication, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, interpersonal and social skills...
To enhance the indispensable 21st century learning skills through no-boundary global activities and multimedia infusion by using a variety of technology tools, such as Flickr, Ning, Skype, Schoology, Wikispaces, iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, Podcast...
Philosophy:
Information, media and technology skills are considered as indispensable 21st century skills (The Partnership for 21st Century Skills, 2002) and 21st Century teachers need to create the opportunities to use these essential skills to support students' educational development.
Students will be able to develop their collaboration and inquiry based skills "with teachers who are willing and able to use technology's power to assist them in transforming knowledge and skills into products, solution, and new information." (A vision of K-12 Students Today, n.d.)
IB curriculum emphasizes the importance of international mindedness and intercultural understanding. Through global collaboration projects, CDNIS students are not only responsible global citizens and leaders, but also great IB learners.
